Did you know that today is National Wear Red Day? Spearheaded by the American Heart Association, National Wear Red Day promotes the awareness and need for research and treatment of heart disease, the largest killer of women. In fact, cardiovascular disease claims the lives of approximately 500 thousand American women each year. According to the American Heart Association, this is greater than the fatal impact of all types of cancers combined.

In order to celebrate National Wear Red Day there were many events held by medical institutes, hospitals, associations and charitable partners. Perhaps you participated in an event or just wore red to the office today. If you did, post a picture on the Why Not Girl! Facebook page or share how National Wear Red Day or heart disease has impacted you.

In the meantime, check out this flash mob video posted from the National Institutes of Health Heart, Lung and Blood Institute featuring some Why Not Girls! putting a little love in their heart! Fantastic!
