The housing market today is pretty tough. With the number of foreclosures out there it’s hard for many homeowners to sell their property, let alone at their ideal selling price. This has certainly been the case for Amy and John Butler of Chicago. They had their West Town condo on the market for a while and had several viewings, but no real interest.
But out of the blue they received an email from one prospective buyer’s real estate agent informing them that her client had been chosen to be featured on the very popular HGTV show House Hunters and needed to select 12 possible listings for the producers to review. The agent absolutely loved the Butler’s condo and felt that it would be perfect for the show. According to Amy although they were only one out of the 12 places to potentially be featured, they were huge fans of the show and decided to say, “Why Not!” Not only would it be a chance for their condo to get some additional visibility, but Amy said that it would also be a cool story to tell their friends.
Well, after a couple of weeks of review Amy and John were informed that they were selected as one of the three for this prospective buyer’s episode. Now, we won’t give it away whether or not Amy and John’s condo was selected (you’ll have to watch). But for them it was a great way to show off their place and hopefully find a creative way to sell their home. “I just hope that the prospective buyer doesn’t have too many negative things to say,” says Amy.
Amy and John’s condo is featured on tonight’s episode, which airs at 10 pm/9 pm CT on HGTV.

Amy and John’s condo was very nice. The buyer featured on House Hunters seemed to have unrealistic expectations and didn’t appear to want to compromise at all. I hope they find someone who will love their home as much as they obviously do.
